UNIVERSITI TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN

Institute of International Education (IIE)

The Institute of International Education (IIE) serves as UTAR’s central platform for global engagement, international recruitment, academic collaboration, and student development. Under the leadership of the Dean, IIE drives the university’s internationalisation initiatives and ensures that both local and international learners receive comprehensive academic and administrative support.

IIE oversees four core centres:

1 - Centre for English Language Studies (CELS)

Provides English language programmes and enhancement courses to support students in meeting UTAR’s language requirements and strengthening their academic readiness.

2 - Centre for International Education Collaboration (CIEC)

Responsible for international outreach, global marketing, and developing collaborative academic partnerships with overseas institutions.

3 - Centre for International Student Recruitment Management (CISRM)

Focuses on welcoming, supporting, and assisting international students throughout their educational journey at UTAR.

4 - Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLLL)

Offers a wide range of continuing education programmes, micro-credentials, part-time degree pathways, and professional development opportunities for lifelong learners.

Through these specialised centres, IIE plays a strategic role in advancing UTAR’s international presence, enhancing student support services, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
